One talented hacker.
One dead body.
One explosive secret.
When one reckless night leads Farris Barnett to the dead body of a classmate, she's as willing as everyone else to write it off as a suicide. That is, until cryptic messages start coming in from someone who knows the truth, and they want Farris on the case. Putting her hacker skills to work, she begins to unravel the life of a victim who might just have been the guiltiest of them all.
Her personal life in turmoil, Farris turns to the only person she can trust to help her get to the bottom of things - a friend on the verge of becoming much more. Together, they confront a killer with a secret not even she could have decoded.
The biggest bombs, the ones that do the most damage, are the ones you never see coming.

I really liked the fact that the main character, Farris, starts out in the beginning of the book taking a risk jumping in the ocean with Cole in an attempt to conquer her fear of the water. As they pull themselves out of the water onto the sandy shore they notice a dead body not far from them. After the death is ruled a suicide, Farris receives an anonymous note that it was not a suicide. Farris then proceeds to search for the killer.
The story in this book is well thought out and proceeds smoothly. I like the fact that she and her friend Coke lure the murderer to the scene of the crime in an attempt in order to get a confession. I do not like the way that the book ended. If you want to know how the book ends, start reading from the beginning to get to the end. Happy reading.

In Too Deep The #Hackers Series Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Sherry D Ficklin Andrea Emmes Sherry Ficklin Books Reviews
I loved this book! From page one I was hooked!! Seriously, the type of book you are hoping there is a line at the grocery store so you have more time to read!! I read it in like two sittings which says a lot considering I'm under my own editing deadlines. Loved it Sherry!!!!!
Fantastic! Sherry Ficklin is really the queen of fiction! I found this series because I loved her historical fiction series, but this one does not let you down! Book 2 is even more addicting and I couldn't stop reading it! I really enjoy the tech elements to this story and how it ties into paranormal! The characters are bold and engaging and I am eager for the next book in the series! Pick up 1 today! It's free! You won't regret getting into this world!
I surprisingly enjoyed this high school mystery. Although I find it hard to believe, a teenager would get more information about the case than police. That part should’ve been presented more believable. Farris though is smart and is not afraid to break the rules to get answers. The confronting part at the end was a stupid move but it gave excitement to the story. I was surprised by the motive though.
This is the 2nd book in Miss Ficklin's #Hackers series. After reading the first book, which was just as suspenseful as this one, I wanted to get more about Farris and her time on the base. So I got this book and couldn't put it down once I got into it. You just keep wanting more and more details of the mystery that Farris is trying to solve. And to top it all off, the cliffhanger at the end was definitely a plot twist. Now I am going to have to get the third book just to find out what happens.
The second novel started with an unexpected development and change in main characters, which resulted in emotional introspection for Farris. Even though there was some predictability in the story line, there was sufficient mystery to keep me reading. Sherry Ficklin has a great writing style and there is an easy flow to her story telling.
And, jeepers, the end was really unexpected, especially when book 1 was nicely wrapped up, so I half expected the same …
Continues to be a strong story. Another well-plotted mystery. Farris' scooby gang is still there, but the focus is more on her & Cole's friendship.
I like that a girl who is a junior actually follows through with having somewhat realistic expectations about being 16 & in love. Her romantic life is handled in a very YA fashion (behind closed doors with the lights off). There is even a funny moment when her friend Kayla wants details & Farris declines because "we are in a YA novel".
She falls into mystery-solving Ina legitimate way, and continues to be as smart as everyone calls her. It does look like maybe her exploits are being noticed outside her school. If she'll be graduating early, I imagine the next book might be about her getting recruited to use her skills in a professional capacity.
Okay, I finished the first book of the series yesterday and because I enjoyed that book I ordered and just finished the second of the series, oh, I also preordered the third in the series, so you should have some hint about what I think of the series and the author. I generally only read military sci fi.
Now for the negative, I am not sure what the proof reader was doing, but I don't think his/her mind was fully engaged in the job. This really didn't distract from the readability of the book, but it was something I noticed, and I am not a grammar, spelling Nazi.
Another good book, worth reading.
